Today, as a professional graphic designer, I continue to blend my love for creativity with a structured career. I was accustomed to working with digital tools and precise lines, but I yearned for a more fluid and organic approach to art. Watercolor painting, with its delicate and unpredictable nature, piqued my interest. The medium's translucent and ethereal qualities had always fascinated me, and I decided to give it a try during the 2020 pandemic shutdown.

My love for nature, which had been nurtured in my early days of practicing nature photography, seamlessly translated into my watercolor art. I often found myself taking inspiration from the natural world.

Addyson The Artist

Inspired by a deep passion for art and the desire to share the creative journey, I launched 'Addyson the Artist' on social media along with an online storefront. This platform serves as a window into my artistic world, where I showcase the magic of the creative process. Through a series of art process videos, I invite my viewers to witness the birth of my artworks. 'Addyson the Artist' is not just a collection of videos but a vibrant community where art enthusiasts, fellow artists, and curious minds come together to observe my artwork and support me.

Beyond the canvas, I wear various hats, each with its own unique story to tell. In addition to being a painter and graphic designer, I have worked as a baker, prep cook, and even as a florist, which has further expanded my canvas of experiences. In my free time, my love for baking, cooking, and diving into the immersive world of video games reveals the multifaceted nature of my passions. My appreciation for the great outdoors is a lifelong affair that is intertwined with both my art and my free time. From leisurely walks through scenic Pennsylvania landscapes to paddleboarding on the local lake, I try to embrace the outdoors every day. In my free time, I also love to garden. For the 2023 growing season, I focused on growing dahlia instead of vegetables for a new adventure. These moments spent in nature deepen my connection with it, infusing my creative process with an unmistakable authenticity.

Hello and Welcome!

Iā€™m Addyson Fry

I was raised in the historic town of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, where the arts played an integral part of my early life. From a young age, I found myself drawn to various creative pursuits. Music played a significant role, as I sang with several groups and explored my musical talents with different instruments including the clarinet and piano. Beyond that, I had a deep appreciation for the natural world, which I captured through the lens of my camera, delving into the art of nature photography during my free time.

High school was where I discovered my true artistic passion in a ceramics class. The tactile nature of clay deeply resonated with me. My art teacher saw potential and encouraged me to take her drawing and painting class. Under her guidance, I flourished, even exhibiting my work in local galleries.

My next step was enrolling at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where I embarked on a journey to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Art with a focus in graphic design. College was a transformative experience that allowed me to expand my artistic horizons, experiment with various techniques, and refine my skills as a graphic designer and artist. It was during these formative years that my artistic identity truly began to take shape. While in college, I also started freelancing, taking on diverse projects for local organizations, and even my university. Freelancing provided me with hands-on experience and a chance to contribute my creative touch to real-world projects.
